Read Win Race (April 12th-May 16th)

WOULD YOU LIKE TO EARN A FREE TICKET TO THE RACES, AMONG OTHER FUN PRIZES?!

From April 12th through May 16th we will be holding a reading challenge that is individually based but also competes with Trinity School and Elysian School.

Each week students will have a race car coloring sheet to fill out that corresponds to their reading (for our younger students, each section to color equals 15 minutes of reading. Our older students it is 30 minutes of reading for each section.) Once the whole form is colored, the parent will sign off on it and it will be turned in to the teacher. There is a new sheet each week along with prizes each week!

During this time, our school will be competing with Trinity and Elysian schools. There will be a racing board placed in each school office for students to see who is winning each week!

The grand prize for students to win is a ticket to get into the races for free on Saturday, May 25th. Not only will the students get to watch the races, but there will also be the ultimate principal showdown! The three principals from the three schools will actually get down on the strip and race cars for the finale winner. This is where the school that winds the reading challenge comes in handy as that school will have a guaranteed spot in the final 2 cars that race!

We wish good luck and good reading to all of our students!

More information will continue to come out as we get closer to April 12th.

They will be covering courses offered, graduation requirements, registration, clubs and activities, as well as answering any other questions you as a parent might have about high school. Please plan to attend this meeting if your child is going to West High next year. This is the only parent meeting offered by West High for all new incoming students. West High Open House for incoming freshman is set for Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:00 pm.
