This is an announcement in regards to how we are going to proceed with the Basketball games tonight September 3, 2020, and until further notice. Last night it was announced by the county health department that schools could decide how and if they are going to have spectators attend sporting events.
Unfortunately, this information was not in the best timing to prepare for spectators for our games tonight. After discussion with both schools involved tonight and next week, we have decided to temporarily not have spectators until the district can develop a plan for allowing spectators in the gym.
The district must decide a safe gym capacity following CDC guidelines and cleaning expectations. This process must be developed and presented to the board of trustees for approval. The next board meeting will be September 10th and a plan will be decided upon. Until then we are asking that we conduct the games with no spectators to assure that we are meeting all expectations and continue to be compliant with the Yellowstone County. It is in the district's best interest to not rush this process and keep the safety of our students at the forefront of our decision-making. We hope that parents will understand that this is not an easy process and planning does take some time. Upon the development of our spectator plan, we will share the expectations with the public so that everyone will know the expectation while attending events. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
The good news is that we have a live streaming source prepared for you to watch our BB games. We will keep this going for the remainder of the season even with spectators present. To participate in this streaming source you must go to Canyon Creek District #4 Facebook page and join our page. In the options, you will see videos as a resource. Click on videos and a few minutes before the game a live feed will be available to join. We will be streaming and recording the game from this source. We hope that this will help our spectators to enjoy watching the games and be a great resource for people that do not feel comfortable attending in person in the future. If you are unable to watch the live feed, a recorded version will be saved and available at any time. We hope you will participate online tonight and cheer on our girls in their first game of the season.
